The Kansas City headquarters for IFF (Illinois Foundation Fund) is a compact, 1,700-square-foot office located within a downtown office tower. The design treats the limited footprint as an opportunity to create a workplace defined less by enclosure than by openness, continuity, and light. Designed for a staff of 11, the office accommodates focused work, collaboration, meetings, and informal social connection within a highly compressed plan. Through careful spatial organization and a restrained architectural language, the office maintains clear visual connections across the plan, brings daylight deep into the interior, and establishes a sense of generosity disproportionate to its size.
Organized to preserve long sightlines and shared access to the perimeter glazing, the office emphasizes visual continuity throughout the plan while maximizing daylight and views across the compact workspace.
